Natural Sciences

Natural Science is a compulsory subject taught at Grade 8-9 level. It consists of the two components of Physical Science and Life Sciences, which are taught at Grade 10-12 level. Natural Science thus provides an excellent foundation to all those wishing to study Physical Sciences and Life Sciences in Grade 10-12. These subjects open many career paths and a solid foundation is thus incredibly important.

Besides having many practical applications in life, the study of Natural Science is essential to gaining an insight into the world we live in. Curricula include: the Kinetic Molecular model, Alternative Energies, Reproduction and Natural Selection plus a variety of other exciting subject matter. They also include pragmatic subjects such as diet. Even if a student is not planning on taking Science further, to FET level, they will leave Grade 9 Natural Science with a basic understanding of factors important to their health, future and the world around them.

A democracy is only as good as its citizens. An understanding of basic Science is a prerequisite to being able to make informed decisions in the future.
