If you’re generally healthy and aged between 17 and 65, do something amazing…. Give blood!
Each year sees several learners donating blood for the community. The school arranges a blood donation clinic once a term with the South African National Blood Service.
What will happen?
Assessments include:
- a finger prick test to ascertain if your haemoglobin level is within a safe range for donation purposes.
- your pulse rate and blood pressure will be checked
- You must also weigh at least 50kg or more
- You should be 17 or older and in good health.
- Potential donors will be permitted to donate only if these measurements are within the defined, acceptable range.
