⚖️ Before the Justices of the Constitutional Court…

Over the holidays, Aqilah Regal and Zoey Van Reenen participated in the 7th annual National Schools Moot Court Competition, which took place in Pretoria. The competition aims to create a  greater consciousness and understanding in South African schools and communities about the Constitution of the Republic of South Africa and the values embodied by it through the active participation of learners in a moot court competition.

A greater consciousness and understanding were certainly achieved: Aqilah and Zoey attended Law seminars and were able to experience the lives of advocates while arguing their case. Not only were they role playing the work of  advocates, they were doing so before Justices of the Constitutional Court. The competition enabled them to to sit in one of the courtrooms which forms the foundations of our proud, democratic and diverse country.

Apart from an astonishing learning experience, it was a fantastically memorable experience for both of them.  They returned to Cape Town with a magnitude of invaluable skills, knowledge of the constitution and friendships that will last a lifetime.
