On Friday 19 May, the First Hockey Team hosted a golf day at Rondebosch Golf Club to raise money for our overseas Hockey Tour to Holland in September.

The day held all sorts of fun for all, especially the golfers who were supporting the event. They received cool “goody” bags and were supportive of all our fun events at certain holes on the course. The girls were all at the golf course as soon as school finished, right up until the end of the evening and did a great job selling raffle tickets and garnering support for our tour.

Thanks to to all the planning and admin from Debbie & Sean Bailey. The golf day was super-organised and ran smoothly. Many of the hockey parents were involved in sourcing plenty of amazing prizes and auction items for the day. Special thanks must go to Garin Walker, Ebrahim Domingo, Alison Walsh and Shaheem Samai for their extra effort in organising some fantastic prizes.

Thanks to all the parents, coaches and managers involved in this Golf Day, and for their involvement in the ongoing weekly Saturday Wynberg Hockey Tuckshops. We have raised a lot of money towards our tour and towards sponsoring a number of players to ensure that the strongest team can represent our school and country in Holland.

We look forward to our next fundraiser, which will be a Curry Evening a little later in the year and hope to see loads of supporters at our Saturday hockey games.
