3 Wynberg musicians perform in Philharmonic Gala Concert at Artscape

On the 7 February, at the Artscape Theatre in Cape Town, the Cape Town Philharmonic Youth Orchestra and the Cape Town Youth Wind Ensemble performed at their annual gala concert.

The show was a great hit and the hall was filled to capacity with excited parents, siblings, friends and fellow colleagues of the Cape Philharmonic Outreach program. There was a variety of music, such as Dvorak’s New World Symphony to upbeat rhythms of Bruno Mar’s “Uptown Funk

Extraordinary talent was seen here and there was even an upcoming celebrity participating in the concert: SA Idol’s Loki Rothman. He played an amazing guitar solo – Parisienne Walkway by Gary Moore, that made even me want to pick up a guitar and learn it.

The Elsies River High choir also assisted the CPYWE in the section of the shoe, and they were absolutely amazing. I honestly had a great time entertaining the audience, and when you see how much they are enjoying themselves the satisfaction of sharing joy of music is immeasurable. Other girls from Wynberg who also performed were Hong Ju Nam (CPYWE) and Michaela Arries (CPYO).
