The Cultural Evening, organised by our Ubuntu Society, was a night filled with African songs, poetry, traditional dancing, hip-hop, delicious food and so much more! On 21 October 2017  the audience was entertained by performances from over 10 schools amongst which were Wynberg Boys’ High School, Herschel, Rondebosch Boys’ High, Rustenburg Girls’ High, Springfield, Sans Souci, Malibu High, SACS, Claremont High, Groote Schuur High.

The evening began with a performance by our Senior Marimba band and this was followed by a dramatic performance by the Ubuntu society which  highlighted our outrage at the indignity and violence and oppression endured by women in South Africa. This performance powerfully set the tone for the night. Performances given by fellow schools were just as compelling, as was clear from the response of  a  spirited audience. The show this year included a special performance from our matrics who performed for the last time as “Wynberg Girls”

The huge variety of entertainment, the incredible traditional costumes and the passion that came out of every performer kept the audience wanting more.

We thank Mrs Godana and the Grade 11 Ubuntu Society girls for organising this special event, as well as all the other schools who joined us and shared their passion and talent with us.
