Athena Games of 2016 exceed expectations…

The Athena Games, the annual academic competition organised in conjunction with Wynberg Boys’ High, was held on Monday 14 March and was everything it promised to be and more. Participants were encouraged to come dressed in the colours of their favorite Olympic teams. These ranged from Brazil, all the way to the US and some people were quite dedicated to their outfits.

Working through the stations, each based on a different school subject, was very exciting. There was a lot of bonding between the teams and the competition was fierce. Every station presented a new challenge and what made the stations more enjoyable was the fact that everything was relatable to us and we could solve problems by working together. The stations were a perfect mix of subject knowledge and general knowledge and this was great, as it meant it was not all school-based.

Overall, the evening was really well organised, the refreshments were amazing and everyone had a lot of fun.  It was a great experience to meet new people and, at the same time, engage in some academic competition.
