Awards for Wynberg at the Tygerberg Prestige Concert

The annual Tygerberg Prestige Concert is an event for all prize winners of the Tygerberg International Eisteddfod. With an esteemed patron – Mr Pedro Kruger – and special performances by selected prize-winners, this event is both highly prestigious and enjoyable. There were approximately twenty entrants in the eisteddfod, and all the girls did extremely well.

This year, the event took place on the 16th of October at the Hugo Lambrechts Music Centre. Of the many distinctions received at the Eisteddfod, there were also prizes awarded for the winners of each category. The following girls were invited to the concert to receive their trophies formally as winners of their respective categories:

Tygerberg Eisteddfod award:
Natalie Winter: Best soloist 15 years
Georgia Bailey, Robyn Burrows, Rachel Suttle: Best trio 17 years
Best Vocal Ensemble: Wynberg Girls’ High Vocal Ensemble

Marié Schoeman award:
Samantha and Emma Martin: Best duet 14 years

After the welcome speech by Chairman Louis Blom, each of these girls received a trophy from the patron of the Tygerberg International Eisteddfod, Mr Pedro Kruger. This included a trophy for the school, collected by Natalie Winter on behalf of the vocal ensemble.

We are extremely proud of our girls and their achievements.
