Balloons for Breast Cancer

October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is an annual campaign that aims to increase awareness of the disease. This month we aimed to create awareness amongst learners and staff at Wynberg.

Over the years Wynberg Girls’ High School has been involved in a number of events in support of the PinkDrive and this month we wanted to continue to show support for the work they have do for South African women. The PinkDrive aims to educate women from around South Africa in breast health as well as to provide free mammograms to those in need.

This year the Service Committee sold pink ribbons to students and staff in an effort to allow learners to show support and to encourage them to find out more about breast cancer.

We ended the month by selling pink balloon as part of our Balloons for Breast Cancer Campaign. We were able to inform student about breast health and allow them to get involved in the fight against breast cancer. All the funds raised during the month of October will be donated to the PinkDrive.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to those who supported our campaign.
