Capstone campers took to Rocklands campsite in Simon’s Town over the Valentine’s weekend to celebrate the one who gave the ultimate gesture of love: Jesus Christ. The theme for the camp was ”in the wild”  The purpose was to encourage students from Wynberg Girls’and Boys’ High Schools to celebrate God’s freeing them from the cages of the world.

There was mountains of fun to be had over the weekend including diving for the ‘key to freedom’,  memory verses and wild war cry competitions. The worship sessions led by the band featuring various musicians from churches all over Cape Town was without doubt the highlight of everyday. Invariably this led to dancing to ‘the monkey’, an excessively athletic and fun dance routine.

Sessions were run by the camp’s guest speaker, Darren, on the importance of recognizing the freedom we have been given and we were given some practical spiritual advice which we could apply to every day situations. Glenn and Vicky Cook from TPC church also joined in on the wild action and facilitated discussions on how to build strong relationships with those around us as we grow spiritually.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed their weekend away showing their wild, passion and pride side in Jesus.
