Clare RodsethClare is an outstanding academic who embraces academic challenges and always gives of her best.  Her profound insight and marked intelligence, her willingness to challenge, to question and to learn is reflected in the number of awards she has received, and her position as Dux pupil every year since her arrival at Wynberg Girls’ High School.  She has been a respected Head of the Academic Pillar and has initiated several new academic activities completely disproving the perception that academics are boring.  Clare is not only an exceptional academic, she also is a provincial representative in three sport codes, waterpolo, life saving and cross country, which demonstrates her high level of skill, commitment and determination.

She has recently been chosen as the Wynberg Girls’ High School’s first GAP student to the Verenigde Scholen J A Alberdingk Thijm in the Netherlands.  Modest and unassuming, she achieved an A-symbol in both History and English in the International Cambridge University AS level examinations.  She placed Wynberg Girls’ High School on the academic international map when her results in her English AS level examination were announced.  Clare achieved first position in the world for this examination.

A woman of exceptional talent, Wynberg Girls’ High School acknowledges Clare Rodseth as the recipient of the prestigious Golden Lion Award.
