Dancing their way to Nationals!

It was a proud moment for our Dance Sport Provincial Representatives and their Coaches as they were presented with the Western Province DanceSport Trophy and their medals in assembly.

On the 24 of March the squad competed in the big inter-schools fixture at Oude Moulen Technical High School and came first with a 42 point lead. A number of these dancers took home medals for placing in the top 3 of their age division, and the school was able to celebrate this achievement with them today.

Placing first in the U14 division – Gita Urion (away representing South Africa in a hip hop competition in Croatia)
Placing second in the U14 division – Alicia Arends

Placing first in the U16 division – Amarachi Vazidlule
Placing third in the U16 division – Jessica Petersen

Placing first in the Open division in this competition, and in every fixture this season – Chloe Scholtz
Placing second in the Open division – Tsholofelo Managadi

Our dedicated coaches, Simone Neethling, Lelethu Mtwana and Robyn Johansson spent many hours training the girls and have managed to do an incredible job while balancing the pressures of Matric. They were asked to receive the trophy on behalf of Wynberg Girls’ High for being the top DanceSport High School in the Western Cape.

Now comes the work, as they prepared to compete against Gauteng and KwaZulu Natal in the 2017 National Championships…

You GO girls – we’re right behind you, every step of the way! ✈️ ✈️
