Diploma for Combined Concert Band awarded at the WindWorx Festival

WindWorxThe Windworx Fanfare proved once again, to be one of the most exhilarating events of the year. Held at Wynberg Boys’ High School on Saturday, 21 May, the combined concert band were privileged to make their annual appearance at the Fanfare alongside the bands of Belville High School, the Cape Philharmonic Youth Wind Ensemble, Sans Souci and many others. The band performed some of their favourites including “Salvation is created” by Pavel Chesnokov and Michael Sweeney’s “High Water Mark: The Third Day”.

It has become customary to perform multiple times at the Fanfare:  consequently, the band first performed in the the Main hall for adjudication. This was followed by their repertoire in the open air theatre for a sunset concert and a final performance was given in the evening. The evening concert was the cherry on top of a fabulous day, when all of the bands came together as a unit to perform “The Symphonic Beatles” and “Majestica” by John Cacavas and Brian Balmages respectively.

We are absolutely thrilled to have had the opportunity to perform in the fanfare and to have achieved a Diploma once again!
