Friday afternoon was filled with lots of fun, laughter and competitive playing. The 2017 Inter-schools Netball tournament was definitely one to remember. From Wynberg’s first match against St Cyprian’s to their last match against Springfield, the girls played with a strong desire to win. The girls were on fire, playing consistently well and recovered immediately when silly mistakes were made. The support from the sideline really encouraged the team and helped them to push even harder.
The WGHS U19s lost their first match by one point against St Cyprian’s School. The girls drew against Herschel, giving them a real run for their money. In their third game, the U19s beat Rustenberg and went on to beat Sans Souci thereafter. Unfortunately, the girls lost their final fixture against Springfield. This resulted in the WGHS U19 achieving 3rd place overall. The girls played extremely well and it was definitely some of the best netball played throughout the entire the season. Well done to the girls for an absolutely amazing tournament!
