First in the World, Julia Cosentino

Wynberg Girls’ High has been congratulated by the Cambridge University International Education Centre on her “excellent results.” The average for History and English at Wynberg were 73% and 74% respectively. Of the 16 candidates who sat the History examination, 6 girls obtained A’s and 2 B’s, and in the English Language and Literature Papers, of the 19 girls who sat the exam, 6 obtained A’s and 5 B’s. Five of the girls were particularly delighted with their double A’s: Saarah Coenraad, Julia Cosentino, Sian Ferguson, Jade Marx and Melandri Naidoo.

Special attention must be given to Julia Cosentino, who has been placed in 1st position, world wide, in the 2011 AS Levels English examination. What a wonderful result for an insightful, hard-working student! Congratulations too, to all of Julia’s AS Levels English teachers.

It is not the first time that Wynberg has achieved outstanding results in the AS Levels.

In 2010, Wynberg achieved a 100% pass rate, three of the 10 History girls and seven of the 21 English girls achieved A’s, and of the 21 girls who wrote the English exams, 14 obtained above 70%. This same year, Jamie de Klerk obtained 100% for her History AS Levels results.

In 2009 Clare Rodseth, Julia Green and Rebecca Jacobs came 1st, 4th & 7th in the world in their English AS Levels,  respectively.
