The Grade 11 History outing to the Holocaust Centre was a fascinating, yet morbid, experience.  We were shocked to learn about the inhumanity of the genocide and anti-Semitism that was rife in Germany and its surrounding countries.  We learnt that the hatred of the Jews was not a German fabrication, but rather an ongoing build up of prejudice, racist jokes and society-accepted stereotypes.  It is sickening that prejudice, if left unresolved, could result in over 6 million deaths!  The exhibitions were very interesting and expanded our knowledge of the Holocaust.  We felt grateful that Sonja shared her personal experience of anti-Semitism in Berlin (Germany) and how she and her family managed to escape.

It was an enriching outing.
