From 4 – 6 September, the Grade 9’s had their Defined Workshop. The main aim of the workshop is to teach the girls about major life decisions and making the right choices. We were split up between ten teachers, with whom we discussed critical teenage issues such as puberty and contraception. The groups were chosen at random and so we had a chance to interact with people we would not normally spend time with. We also did activities as a grade and watched several videos regarding sex and pregnancy.

A guest speaker told her moving story of teenage pregnancy, which certainly contributed to a deepened understanding that we have to take responsibility for our actions .The teachers were very helpful and open and allowed for us to go to them with any problems or questions we had. All together, it was an eye-opening but also fun experience! We are very privileged to have had this opportunity.
