Under 14 B vs Wycombe U/15

Wynberg had the priviledge of playing Wycombe High School while they were on tour in South Africa. The B won the toss to begin the game with the ball. In the first half, Wycombe displayed excellent netball skills with accurate passes and extremely accurate shooting. Wynberg started off bunching and not throwing very accurate passes but as they got into the game and started to play much better. The final score was 24-5 to Wycombe.

Under 16 B vs Wycombe

On 21 July, the under 16 B team played against Wycombe, a touring side from England. It was an eventful match and they were tough competitors as well as great sportswomen! Wynberg were able to beat Wycombe 8 – 7. It was a great way to start off the term. We are looking forward to the rest of the netball season, playing and training as hard as we can.

Under 14 A vs St Albans Under 14

St Albans won the toss and started the game with the ball.  Their defense was extremely good which put pressure on the Wynberg attackers. By the end of the 1st quarter St Albans had managed to secure every centre pass, as well as convert each Wynberg centre pass as well. The score at the end of the 1st quarter was 11-0 to St.Albans.

The 2nd and 3rd quarter were exactly the same as the first, with St Albans giving Wynberg a run for their money, with an extremely well rehearsed defense working 120% of the time, our shooters found it very difficult to secure a goal.

The final score was 32-0 to St. Albans. The girls enjoyed meeting the team, and had some fabulous photos taken after the game.  We we wish them a safe tour further, and hope that they make loads of unforgettable memories in our beautiful city.

Under 16 A

The U16A side lost 3-1 on Monday to the touring side. The opposition dominated the game in the early stages but Wynberg fought back strongly as the match progressed. Wycombe scored their 3rd goal as the final whistle went. The game was played in a good spirit. Player of the Match was goalkeeper Chelsea van der Berg who made many fine saves and kept Wynberg in the game until the very end.
