On Monday 25th we had our first Printing Society meeting.
For the first term we are doing linocuts and on Monday the girls started sourcing the images that they want to work on. We then started transferring the image onto the lino by means of carbon paper. Once we had finished that arduous process, we managed to begin to start cutting away the lino with our tools. Once everyone is finished, we will print them on the printing press. We are hoping to be able to explore many different types of printing in this society such as woodcuts, collagraphs, and dry point etchings.
Wynberg has also incorporated printing into their art curriculum so the girls are learning skills that they can use both in their art practicals for the rest of their time at high school, as well as out of school.
