On the 20 September 2016 the WGHS water polo first team and WGJS U13A water polo team, along with all their parents, attended the official capping ceremony at the WGJS Aquatic Centre.
This was the first-ever event of this nature to be held by the campus of schools. Its purpose was to give recognition to our players for hard work and dedication over the past months. Coaches, Chad Gabriel (U19A) and Gary Blakey (U13A) had the opportunity to share their vision and mission for Wynberg Water polo in the years to come and to explain the steps that have been taken and are going to be taken in order to achieve these goals. Some of these steps include training camps, weekly training programs, sport-specific stretching and physiotherapy clinics.

It was also an evening in which the junior school girls were given the opportunity to meet the seniors of the high school they will be going to in the new year and for the senior girls to meet some of the girls that will be continuing the legacy of Water Polo at Wynberg. The girls are all excited about the next season and the years to follow.

We wish our U19A girls the best of luck at their Reddam tournament that begins on Friday the 23rd of September.
