? Joy is contagious we discover, at the Spring Concert for the Elderly

Spring ConcertHeads of Service and Culture, Abby Anderton and Bella Draper, organise a joyful and entertaining afternoon entirely fitting for Spring

One of the first projects of the Heads of Service and Culture is the organising of a Spring concert for the elderly. While the Head of Service is responsible for drawing up a guest list and decorating the hall, the Head of Culture is responsible for drawing up a programme of entertainment which she believes will be enjoyed by our guests.

This year, in keeping with the 2018 school council’s aim to generate Spirit, Unity and Pride, all members of the school council were involved in the fundraising and preparation of food which was served to our guests and all were present on the occasion.

Our Senior Marimba Band set the tone for the afternoon,¬†followed by varied and highly entertaining performances from our Orchestra, Choir, Vocal Ensemble, Dancers, Vocalists, Ubuntu Choir and Concert in the Quad Performers from Boys’ High

It was a wonderful afternoon and our guests were delighted by the performances. We received a very moving (public) vote of thanks from one of our guests, and were delighted when a number of our guests, unable to hold themselves back, got up to dance to the very rousing finale from our Marimba Band.
