“A frenzied week for our our furry friends” goes some way towards describing the past week in the lives of those the service pillar. From the start of the week, we had to restrain our desire to begin a premature counting of the pet food collected for DARG by the girls in our school and we were delighted when a total of 186kg of food was brought in .

After the food was collected on Friday morning, we decided to end of the day with quick sewing session. We met up with boys school to make some pet beds for the Animal Welfare Society in Philippi. The afternoon was spent stuffing and sewing the bed which, interestingly, proved to be more of a challenge to some than others. No guessing for whom! Undoubtedly, it was a fun-filled and productive afternoon as total of 20 beds were beautifully made.

Finally, to wrap up the week, the beds were dropped of bright and early on Sunday morning and were greatly appreciated. It was a busy and satisfying week for those furry friends who leave paw-prints on our hearts!
