Matric Music Concert

On Wednesday 26 August the Matric Music class of 2015 played their final concert at WGHS. The girls along with their family and friends gathered in the school hall and played 2 pieces each which they will be playing in the final exams this coming week. Despite all the nerves, each and every girl played beautifully and they left the audience in absolute awe. Within the class of 16 girls there were performances on 10 different instruments and they covered many different genres, from strict classical pieces by Beethoven to musical pieces from Chicago and even a jazz standard or two.

While it was a fantastic evening filled with amazing performances it was also a rather sad evening for the matrics as it was their last performance as a class that has been particulary involved in the music department throughout their high school careers. As a music student myself, I don’t think I could have been more proud of how each and every girl performed on the evening. It really was a testament to all the hard work everyone has put in over the years. A huge congratulations to all of the performers as well as massive vote of thanks to all of the music staff who made the evening possible.
