Ms Shapiro visits Devonport

“Awesome, overwhelming, awe-inspiring, amazing, tremendous, stimulating, fantastic and fortunate” is how Carol/Mrs Shapiro expressed her appreciation of an exchange teaching programme to the UK through Afritwin.
A visit to Devonport Girls’ High, Plymouth (UK) in January was an unforgettable experience. Ms Shaps co-taught with Mrs Adele Rees who had visited Wynberg Girls’ High in October last year. Together, with the learners of both schools, they have put together a dance number which will be performed to music and song by WGHS brilliant Jazz Combo band ably coached and conducted by Ms Pearce. This is a team effort involving several cultural aspects of the schools and an indication of cross-continent involvement assisted by the use of technology.
