NetballU14A report
The game started off at a high pace and we struggled to settle into our game through missed centre passes and too many foot-faults. Our opponents were relentless and kept pushing us. Eventually our team stepped it up in the second half with more accurate passes and fewer handling errors. The girls tried really hard to intercept balls and our shooters worked well together. Unfortunately, the team lost but we will just have to work hard for future matches. The best part was that we learned a lot, enjoyed ourselves and supported each other.

U14C report
The U14C were very pleased with their match against Jan van Riebeeck on Thursday and, while there is definitely some room for improvement, the girls played well and are very happy with their 6-1 win. Well done to the team and we look forward to next weeks’ match.

U16A report
The first half of the ‘A’ team game against Jan Van Riebeeck was a tough 15 minutes for the WGHS team. Silly mistakes were made and turnovers were frequent because our players did not listen properly to the ref. During the second half, the WGHS team did pick up their game and scored a few more goals, however the defense on the opposing team was too strong and we lost to Jan van Riebeek 7-22

U16B report
The under 16B side played a tough match against Jan van Riebeck and we were outplayed by a much stronger team. Our Wynberg girls played hard and put in a lot of energy throughout the game, but our passing needed to be more accurate and we turned over too much possession. The opposition was fitter and stronger than us and accelerated their game in the second half. We learned many lessons and will definitely aim to improve for our next match.

U19A report
On Thursday 18 May, Wynberg played against one of our strongest competitors and there was much anticipation leading up to the game. The U19A side played a tough game throughout, keeping up with the fast-pace of the game and maintaining accurate passes and possession. The half time score of 9-13 to Jan van Riebeek was a fair reflection and our team were proud of their efforts against a slick opposition.

Throughout the last two quarters, both teams kept up the relentless pace of the game, but more errors crept in as the girls grew more fatigued as the goal-rate accelerated! We fall a bit short with the end score of 26-16. While Jan van Riebeek ended as victors on the day, our team took heart due to the fact that we played hard until the very end. A special mention to Okwethu Banisi for playing a magnificent game at centre and for providing continuous support to all other players on the court.

U19B report
Our girls played a really great game as they took the court with confidence and the desire to win. The half time score of 9-8 to Wynberg was a reflection of this competitive attitude and our positive team work on and off the court was a source of inspiration in the second half, as we turned up the pace to beat a very strong Jan van Riebeek team 22-12. Very well done to everyone and a special mention to Chelsea Dallas who played exceptionally well, intercepting many passes to give us possession and for being relentless throughout the game!
