On the 14th of May Wynberg played netball against St. Cyprians. The u19A team had a very tough match.  At the end of the first quarter the score was 3-7 to St. Cyprians.  The girls were still in high spirits as they fought to get those 4 extra points. By the end of the second quarter the team was struggling with a score difference of 10, with St. Cyprians taking the lead at 14-4.

The girls were evidently struggling as their opponents brought their A game. Wynberg managed to fight back and by the end of the third quarter one could see the team pulling together. At the end of the third quarter the score was 8-22.  But it seems that the biggest difference was in the final quarter when the opposition won the final quarter 12-27.

Although there were many frustrating moments in the game, the team fought the best that they could. If anything, this match has made the team more determined to beat St. Cyprians in the return leg of fixtures. The player of the match was Lauren Jonathan for giving her all to the game and her team, even during tough times.

Our girls were nervous to start with, knowing that the same team that had won the Rustenburg under 16 cup this year, was to be their opponents, never the less, they stuck to the game plan, and did their best.  St Cyprians took an early lead in the first half with a score of 8-9.  With the coach making changes, in the 2nd half, the girls were determined to make a difference, intercepting more than just a few of their opponents centre passes.  Wynberg managed to take the lead, ending the game 17-10.  The player of the match was awarded to Okuhle Ndwandwa who played on the WA position providing her shooters with amazing passes to secure a Wynberg WIN.
