On Monday 17 October the U14s had great fun playing against the girls from Guildford High in the UK. The girls enthusiastically made the effort to play one final netball match for the year. The team played very well, especially given that the netball season is now finished. It took a few minutes for the girls to find their rhythm again but once they found their groove, they played well. Despite their fighting attitude in the last half, the team lost 23-15. The experience was thoroughly enjoyable. The touring girls were lovely and loads of fun was had during and after the match. Well done to the U14 netball team! What a way to end the season and the year!

The girls were up against some stiff opposition in their match against Guildford High. The first quarter was tough given that some girls had not played for quite some time. In the second quarter, Wynberg picked up the pace and put up a good fight. The defence and attack both worked very hard; however, as the match continued the girls began to feel quite exhausted. They continued fighting but in the end, Guildford won 36-8. The player of the match was Lula. Luckily, there were no injuries and the team played extremely well given that the netball season ended a while ago.

During the first half of the match, the girls were very rusty and the opposition was leading the score line. Nevertheless, some great combinations helped Wynberg to fight back. However, due to a few silly mistakes and the skill of the opposition, the goal difference gradually increased. Despite the girls’ best efforts, the final score was 32-8 to Guilford High School. The match was played in good spirit and all the girls enjoyed the experience.
