On 23 April Wynberg Girls High School U16 A played an away game against Reddam High School. Reddam won the toss and choose first centre pass.  Wynberg started strong, with a good defense, gaining the first 2 points of the match, we then started to fall behind.  Reddam led 3-7 at half time. Unfortunately we were not able to regain the lead, finishing the match with a score of 15-7, with Reddam winning the match. The U16 A played well considering this was the first match of the season.  The player of the match was shared by Sarah Underwood and Natasha Classen.

u16 B

On 23 April Wynberg played a match against Reddam. It was a very tough match and our girls played well.  The u16B’s lost the toss, which meant that Reddam started with the ball. In the first half the girls made unnecessary mistakes and didn’t get into the game, finishing the first half down 3-6.  During the second half the girls came together as a team, however they were not able to secure all of their centre passes, leaving Reddam with the win – 13-9.  The Player of the match was Lupiwe Poswa.

U 14A

The girls played extremely well against the Reddam team, but we have to work on the foot faults, listening to the umpire and communicating with players.  The score at half time was 10-3 to Reddam. Our girls were determined to get back into it and played till the last whistle, we ended the game with a score of 16-6 to Reddam, we are proud that we kept their goals down in the 2nd half, and hope to have learnt what to work on in our practice sessions for our next game being Westerford. Player of the match goes to Okuhle Ndwandwa.
