Under 19A

Playing the game against Rustenburg was a challenge, with the Captain winning the toss for Wynberg, the girls started the play.

1st Netball Team

At the end of the 1st quarter the score was extremely close with Rustenburg leading by 1 goal.  Our shooters did their best, but we had 2 centre passes intercepted, giving Rustenburg to a 2 goal advantage at half time.  The coach made strategic changes to the player positions on court, which helped the speed the tempo of the game, but we were not able to get back the 2 points.

At the final whistle it was Rustenburg who were victorious with a score of 18-15. It was a good clean game, with girls giving their best every second of the game, the top goal scorer for Wyberg was Sasha Duncan, and top defence player went to Yeukai Chamba.  We look forward to playing Rustenburg again at the Annual PGSGU Inter-Schools.

Under 14 A

Our girls took court with fantastic school spirit, winning the toss, Wynberg chose the first centre pass.

The game got a bit rough, with rain and hail falling while the girls were playing, which unsettled all the players..

At the end of the first half, Rustenburg led by 9 goals to 3.

In the second half, our shooters became more comfortable with the conditions and managed to get 4 more goals, but it was a bit to late, as Rustenburg had secured the win with a score of 7-15.

Under 14 B

The match started off  in weather that was still playable. The under 14 B team were ready for action.

The first half was played quite cautiously due to a wet court, but never the less, Wynberg managed to sneak into a half time lead of 1-0.

in the second half, Wynberg got into gear and our shooters Ashley Timm and Coral Hedley could not be stopped, scoring 9 goals between them.  Our defence were also on point with Lara Johnson receiving Player of the Match on her Goal Defence position, keeping Rustenburg to just 1 goal for the game.

Final Score 10-1 to Wynberg

Best Attack Player: Jade De Villiers

Top Scorer: Coral Hedley
