On Making Documentaries – Advice from the Experts

On 2 February, the Grade 11s attended a lecture by Lynne Childs on the making of documentaries. Mrs Childs was assisted by her husband and by Daniel Manners (Mrs Manners’ son) and together, they entertained us and taught the Grade 11s a great deal about making documentaries – including completing sufficient research, always respecting one’s subjects, and the fact that all documentaries should have a story.

It was, indeed, a privilege to have someone of Mrs Childs’ calibre giving up her valuable time to address the Grade 11s this year.
