Piping Flowers

Mikayla Duminy, a past pupil and pastry chef, demonstrated to the Grade 10 Consumer Studies class how to make buttercream icing piped flowers. The pupils, in a hands-on demonstration made roses, leaves and grass using different nozzles and the buttercream icing. The pupils also learnt how to make fondant roses. It was a wonderful time of learning new skills which the pupils can put into practice for their practicals.

Mikayla also spoke to the pupils about owning your own catering business and what it entailed to be a chef.
