Quanita Bobbs - South African RepresentativeQuanita, or Quincy as she is fondly known, is a dynamic and accomplished member of the Sports pillar at our school, playing hockey and indoor hockey at an extremely high level.    Although her sporting prowess has meant she has missed many days of tuition, she has maintained her above average academic record.

Quanita, from the moment she arrived at Wynberg, showed her talent on the hockey field and was selected for the provincial teams from u14 though to the u18 Western Province schools teams.

Still at school she was selected for the ladies u21 WP team and most recently achieved her SA colours by being selected for the SA u17 team which participated in the Africa Cup of Nations.  Quanita then became the only Western Province member selected for the South African u17 team which participated in the Youth Olympic games held in Singapore.

Her commitment to excellence saw her hone her skills to achieve these wonderful accolades, yet she has always shared these skills and has been a committed team member within her school teams.

Humble, and truly a young women who shows exceptional sporting talent and the highest level of sportsmanship on and off the field, she is a fine example of a Wynberg learner who exemplifies the school motto “Honour before Honours”.

Quanita, we are proud of you and I am honoured to present you with the Golden Lion Award.
