Indoor hockey 1st team Match vs Fairmont

The first game of the season started off at full pace with high intensity as the Wynberg team attacked the opposition circle earning a penalty corner where Sasha Sivertsen flicked for goal, but was stopped due to it hitting the body of a Fairmont player preventing it from going in. This resulted in a penalty stroke and Sasha took advantage of this by putting it in the back of the net to open up Wynberg’s scoring sheet. Wynberg continued to play with an attacking mind set and earned many short corners, two of which they capitalized from. Amina Williams scored a great deflection goal and Jamie Southgate scored Wynberg’s third goal which resulted in Wynberg winning their game 3-0.

Chelsea van de Berg made three very crucial saves during the game, definitely an outstanding performance! It was an enjoyable match, everyone worked well together and stepped up to the plate. We are excited to see what the rest of the season holds.

Indoor hockey 2nd team match vs Fairmont

The 2nd team played a very tough team and had many opportunities during the game, but could not covert. The team played together for the first time and definitely worked for each other and gave it their all. The final score was 3-0 in favour of Fairmont. Despite the score they still had fun and are excited to get to know one another and form the connections that will put those goal opportunities away. Well played girls.
