On the 14th of April 2016, Wynberg Girls’ High School’s netball teams played an away game against Fish Hoek High School. It was their first league match of the season and our girls were very excited to play. All around, the matches were played with much enthusiasm. Although we lost four of our matches, our girls put up a strong fight and played their hearts out. A special mention to our U16A side who won their match and to our U14C and B sides for winning their first ever league matches at Wynberg.

The First team played a phenomenal match against Fish Hoek High School. Although our girls lost 28-17, they walked off the court with the same upbeat attitude with which they started. It was a tough match and our girls gave FH, as their coach said, “a run for their money”. It was a close match during the first two quarters (7 – 12 down), however our players lost a bit of momentum in the third. When the last quarter started our girls came back with renewed energy and with a determination to close the score between the two teams. Both teams played with great sportsmanship and gratefully, there were no injuries. Well done, girls!
