u19A Team

On Thursday 12 May, the U19A netball team played an away game against Monument Park High School. Although the trip was long, the bus ride was full of anticipation for the upcoming match. Monument Park is a very strong team, but this only made the team even more determined to fight till the last whistle.

The match was a very exciting game to watch, both teams played extremely well and never gave up. Throughout the match, the scores were incredibly close, creating a nail-biting atmosphere amongst the supporters. Although our girls put up an impressive fight till the end, Monument Park managed to intercept two of our centre passes and kept us from stealing one of theirs, resulting in a loss for Wynberg.

even though the U19A’s lost the match, the score ultimately came to 18-15, showing the sheer determination with which our girls played. every single one of the team put their all into the match and played as a unit and proving that they would not give up in the face of a challenge, it is because of this, that there was no one player of the match, instead the whole team well and truly deserve to hold that title.

Well done to our U19A girls, you made us proud!

u19B Team

On Thursday 12 May the U/19 B team played against Monument Park. It was a long ride to get there, but in the process the girls were able to create a sense of unity and spirit on the bus together.

You could tell the girls were experienced players. The U19B’s made their coaches very proud. Well done to Mercedes Phillips who showed some great improvements and despite her contact play she played a good, aggressive game. The girls ran their hearts out trying to convert the centre passes. The girls struggled to keep up with the centre and goal shooter as they seemed to be the key players of the oppositions team. This resulted in Wynberg losing the match.

Nevertheless, the U/19 B team played with passion and determination. On another day they could have come off the court victorious. They did come off the court smiling, satisfied with their performance despite the score. Well done ladies!
