On Friday the 29th January 2016, the Wynberg Girls water polo teams kicked off their first games for the year against Rhenish.

Well done to the whole u14B team for playing so well for the first time at WGHS . They kept fighting until the last chukka, even though they lost 3-7 to Rhenish. Well done to Caylee Nell and Layla Adams for scoring the three goals. This team has definitely got some good energy in it and we hope to have a good season.

The 14A team started off their water polo careers, guns blazing, bringing home a solid victory for Wynberg. They worked well as a team and were led by Lara Mills as their captain.

U16B team played well but regrettably lost. Their team goals for the future are to focus on swimming and getting up the pool, passing wide and getting confident in taking shots.

The U16 A team unfortunately lost 7-4 to Rhenish. It was a tough game and the girls fought to the bitter end, with the man of the match: Megan de Beer. This team has been training hard and is looking forward to the future games coming up.

2nd team showed tenacity and courage but with great disappointment lost 4-1.

1st team had a sweet come back to the season! Winning 8-6 against Rhenish Girls, all of the hard work and training has paid off. The team persevered throughout the nail biting match, winning with Lara Pollecutt scoring majority of the goals. Well done to the entire team for staying positive and being good sports women.
