On Saturday, 17 May 2014, 8 boys and girls from the Wynberg High Schools volunteered to spend the morning with 24 children from Capricorn Primary.

With ice-breakers involving balloons a fun-filled and colourful atmosphere was quickly established at the Claremont Congregational Church. In our designated groups, we began to play exciting and enjoyable games with the children. After all the fun, a talent show was organised! The children’s ideas were truly impressive, and their singing, dancing and acting were wonderfully entertaining!

We then enjoyed some pizza and juice outside in the sun, before joining in the circle of war cries. To end off a very successful day, certificates and prizes were handed to all who participated in the talent show. As simple as this was, it brought enormous happiness to the children.

For the Wynberg girls, this was certainly one of our best experiences. A big thank you to Sisanda, for their brilliant organisation, and Mrs Roux for giving us this rewarding opportunity.
