Societies Fair

At the beginning of the year, for newcomers to Wynberg Girls’ High, there is a huge amount of information to absorb.  This year, Juliet Stromin (Head of the Cultural Pillar) has worked hard to make whatever was imparted to the Grade Eights memorable. Rather than spending most of the time telling the girls what is available in the pillar for them to participate in, she organised three workshops so that they could experience some of the excitement that can be had when participating. And so we had all girls living the experiences of drama, playing of the marimbas and demonstrating some very cool dance moves.

Because there are numerous clubs and societies to join, a Societies’ Fair was hosted in the Aileen Currie Hall at break on Friday, where interested girls could chat to the heads of the society about what could be expected, and if it piqued their interest, they took a “business card” informing them of the essentials: where and when the meetings take place, and who to look out for. As can be seen from these photographs, it was a vibrant and colourful occasion!
