S5_HeaderThe second instalment of the weekly Super Fives Hockey challenge proved successful for Wynberg as the first team thrashed Reddam 8-4.

It was a very attacking game as they had no goal keeper, and as a result of the rule that goals can be scored from anywhere on the field.

Chelsea Manoek opened the playing field, shortly followed by Jamie Southgate and Maree Peterson. Some counter attacks by Reddam served as a reminder of the fast-paced format that Super 5’s is so well-known for. Halves went by and again Jamie Southgate, Chelsea Manoek, Kayla Morgan and Amina Williams slotted some at back board.

It was a well-earned win for the First Team, but there is always room for improvement. Areas we can look at include quick rotations, movements in and around the field and quick releases to quicken the pace and optimise scoring opportunities. This will be worked on next week. The first team should be congratulated on a brilliant win however. Well done girls!
