Team Zoey and Aqilah represent the Province in National Moot Court Competition

Screen Shot 2017-09-22 at 04.09.54Moot court is a competition where two learners argue as lawyers from a hypothetical case that was given. The first stage requires the writing of an essay in which arguments are outlined. Out of 40 essays, Wynberg Girls’ High School was chosen as one of the 12 schools to take part in the provincial speaking rounds on Saturday.

Zoey van Reenen and Aqilah Regal were advocates for the day and they had such a fantastic experience as they got to learn how to act, dress and speak like proper lawyers. They learnt many skills that are invaluable for their futures.

After two rounds of gruelling questions and arguments, the girls were chosen as one of the top 4 schools who will be advancing to Nationals in Pretoria. We are exceptionally proud of these two girls. They will be participating in the National Rounds in Pretoria from 4-8 October. Here the provincial teams will compete against each other through Preliminary, Quarter Final, Semi-Final and the Final Round. The Grand Final Oral Round will be hosted in the Constitutional Court on the 8th of October 2017. We wish Team Zoey and Aqilah the very best of Wynberg luck as they represent their school and province.
