The joy of a first food harvest…

Carynn Underhill and her Enviroclub have done such an incredible job quietly in the background with their permaculture food garden, and yesterday was particularly exciting  because it was our first harvest. One of the staff members involved in the initial stages took some of the members of our support staff down to the garden to choose what produce they would like to pick to take home. Today they picked: beetroot, spinach, onion, beans, peas, rosemary, basil, pineapple sage, mint and garlic chives. In the winter, some of the produce will go to the soup kitchen.
