Waterpolo – Wynberg vs Pinelands

Friday 20th was Wynberg’s  first game of 2012 and the very first game for our U14’s playing to defend their new badge. Our opponents were none other than the strong Pinelands: we had some hard matches a head of us. The first game up was our U16A team.  From the first whistle they controlled the game and beat Pinelands. The next game up was the 2nd’s. They played hard throughout the game, but unfortunately lost in the end.

The most anticipated match was up next: the 1st team were moments away from diving in for a cracking game ahead. The pressure was on for us to win our first match of 2012 and beat Pinelands for a 2nd time around. Despite our conceding the first goal, Lizl Everts managed to put Wynberg ahead. For the entire game Wynberg kept a good distance between scores and ended the game with a 14-5 goal lead. The last game to be played was the U16A’s.  From the first whistle they had the game in the bag and walked away with a very convincing victory.
