Huge congratulations to Lauren Gildenhuys who obtained the top marks in Literature and to Lauren Gildenhuys and  Lauren Mitchell who were joint top students in History in the whole of South Africa in their Cambridge University AS Levels examinations.

For a number of years, Wynberg Girls’ High has been running an enrichment programme where Grade 11 girls are invited to  sit the  Cambridge University AS levels examinations in English and History. There is very little doubt in our minds that it is a stimulating programme for our girls, and that its benefits are extraordinary. This year, Lauren Gildenhuys obtained 91% for English Literature and  Lauren Mitchell and Lauren Gildenhuys both achieved 93% in the AS Levels History examination. While we received their results from Cambridge University a number of months ago, we have only just heard that they are the top achievers nationally.

This is not the first time that students of Wynberg have been ranked so highly, and there is little doubt that these kinds of results are achieved through hard work and excellent teaching.
