The Vocal Ensemble was also awarded a diploma and performed on 31 July at the Cape Town Eisteddfod Prize Winner’s Concert, held at the Rustenburg Junior School.

The pieces performed by the choir were

Drums: Nirvana de Villiers
Violins: Razaana Manuel, Hannah Malander, Hannah Muller, Gabriella von Alten Reuss, Sonja Stock, Rebecca Bredekamp
Accompanist: Mr Nathan Lewis

At the time, we knew that the Choir was awarded 96% for their performance, and we were congratulated on “outstanding ensemble work, our great sense of style and focus of concentration.”

Yesterday, we were thrilled to hear that the Wynberg Girls’ High School Choir has won the WC FOSTER medal for the best Choir in the Ladies’ Section and that they too have been invited to perform two songs that the Prize Winners’ Concert on 31 July at Rustenburg Girls’ Junior school. We congratulate all involved – it is for several years now that Wynberg has been awarded top positions in the Cape Town Eisteddfod, and we commend all involved for continuing to fly that banner high.

While the performance included in this post was not recorded at the Eisteddfod, but at an Ensemble concert earlier in the year, it does give you a sense of the quality of the work produced.
