Wynberg supports “Team Sole Sisters’ Fundraising Campaign”

On 2 December, the school was invited to support the Guthrie’s ‘Team Sole Sisters’ fundraising campaign.

A little time before this, Melissa and her sister, Hannah climbed Mt Kilimanjaro with their family. They planned to reach the summit on Hannah’s 10th birthday, making her the youngest person to have accomplished this extraordinary feat. These Wynberg girls planned to use the climbing of Mt Kilimanjaro to raise awareness for the more than 7 million children throughout South Africa who don’t have school shoes.  They partnered with The Bobs for Good Foundation and set a target to raise enough money to buy and distribute 500 pairs of shoes for needy children by the end of the year, 2011.
