Grade 11 Science students were invited to attend the UCT Phenomenal Physics Open Day on Thursday 17 October. It involved a series of different presentations from representatives of the various Physics faculties. It was both comical and incredibly interesting to see them challenge the boundaries of our understanding of the properties of rubber, weight distribution and lighting. From pouring liquid nitrogen all over their desks to magnetic fields to levitation and then finally an exploding coke bottle, the UCT physics department literally went out with a bang!
