Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) is October, and this year Cavanagh and Wellesley have combined to promote as much awareness of how to counter it as possible. This cause is close to our hearts as we are all women with mothers, aunts, sisters and grandmothers. On top of that, Wynberg has been affected in its own way as a member of the staff is a breast cancer survivor.

The two houses will be selling pink ribbons from Wednesday 17 October for R5 each. Not only will this raise awareness within the school, but also within the broader community. The money raised will be donated to the Pink Drive, the organisation known for their generous contribution to the cause.

We wish for every single Wynberg girl to wear this ribbon in memory of those who have suffered from breast cancer. It’s the least we can do.

“Wear it to raise awareness, wear it to be the difference!”
