Annual Grade 12 Activities

Preparing for the future and consolidating friendships and building camaraderie

17 January ~ Matric Sleepover: very often a highlight of the year, all Grade 12′s camp in Wellington Quad – swimming, braaing, talking, dancing, watching movies is generally what is done

14 February ~ A Valentine’s Assembly, hosted and organised by the School Council for the rest of the school.

29 February ~ Careers Evening – looking to the future becomes very important now.

20 April ~ The Matric Dance is the evening that girls have planned for over many years. It is always a very glamorous affair.

23 and 24 April ~ Matric Dance Fashion Shows are organised to show parents and then the rest of the school what was worn to the Dance.

28 May – 8 June ~ Mid-year Examinations are sat

3-14 September ~ Preliminary Examinations allow girls test their ability on all the work they have covered

40 Days ~ a ‘wacky’ day to celebrate the fact that there are forty remaining days at school.

11 October Informal Valedictory, Prize Giving & Formal Valedictory mark the end of the girls’ time at Wynberg as a learner.

Throughout the year, the girls are encouraged to become members of the Past Pupils’ Association, WOGU
