Waterloo

Background History

Waterloo House is named after the decisive battle fought by the Duke of Wellington in which Napoleon Bonaparte was defeated on June 18, 1815. After the French defeat at Waterloo and the final battle of the Napoleonic Wars at the Battle of Wavre, Napoleon was deposed and remained at large for some time in France before surrendering to the British. 1
