Heads of the four Pillars
The position of student Head of each of the four pillars is applied for by Grade Elevens, and on the basis of a letter of application, an interview by a panel of interviewers and her achievements in the past, a leader of each of the pillars is appointed for the year. Areas of responsibilities for the Heads of the four pillars include:
- Head of all teams, clubs, societies and functions which fall under the pillar
- Liaise with the Magazine Committee in the pillar
- Working out a system acknowledging Wynberg girls who achieve outside the school and announcing this at appropriate occasions
- Newsletter items on matters within her areas (writing self or delegating)
- Writing for magazine on events relating to the pillar
- Ensure media department knows when photographs are required/special events are taking place
- Report back to assembly on all events within the pillar to the school
- Publicizing of all pillar events both within the school (posters, announcements) and outside the school (Newspapers, advertising board, website)
- Work with the Staff Head of Pillar – present suggestions/ideas/requests.
- Develop ways of recognizing achievement and commitment within the pillar
- Achievers’ dinner – work with staff involved
- Be part of team supervising attendance at all pillar activities and disciplining as required
- Responsible for overall standard of notice boards which relate to the four pillars
- Member of the Web Committee
